We are looking for a Trainee Freight Clerk to join our team in Coleshill. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in the logistics industry, with full training and on-the-job learning provided.
What you’ll learn
- Coordinate international shipments and road freight operations
- Prepare and manage customs and shipping documentation
- Learn how to complete HMRC customs declarations
- Understand import and export procedures and regulations
- Arrange shipment bookings and communicate with customers and transport providers
- Prepare sales quotes, costings and invoices
- Use industry-specific freight and logistics software
- Develop your knowledge of international geography, transit times and time zones
- Learn about Incoterms and international trade requirements
What we’re looking for
You don't need previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics. We are looking for someone who is:
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- A good communicator
- Confident using computers
- Accurate and attentive to detail
- Keen to learn and develop
- Reliable and professional
Entry requirements: Ideally, 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths
Pay: Up to £25,000.00 per year
