Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Retail Shop Assistant to join our team in Oakham and Uppingham. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy engaging with customers and providing outstanding service. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, managing sales transactions, and maintaining an inviting shop environment. Previous experience in customer service is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. A passion for food is a must!
Duties
- Greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their enquiries
- Operating the till system to process sales accurately and efficiently
- Maintaining the organisation and cleanliness of the shop floor and displays
- Managing stock levels, including replenishing counters.
- Providing product information and recommendations to customers
- Assisting with visual merchandising to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Supporting team members with general shop duties as required
- Pre pack food preparation
Experience
- Previous experience in customer service or food retail is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Organised with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks within the shop setting
- Driving License Essential
- Butchery skills not necessary

We are looking for a permanent employee, with a passion for food and customer service.
Minimum of 29 hours, this could be increased with the right candidate.
Hours and holidays to be discussed at interview.
Starting on minimum wage, hourly - progressing to a salary after a successful 4 month period.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
