Service Centre Manager

Salary: £57,500 per annum + Company vehicle + Bonus

45 hours per week Monday - Friday

Flexible hours operating between 5:30am and 5pm

An exciting opportunity has become available at NRG Riverside and we are looking for an experienced Service Centre Manager to manage the Tunbridge Wells depot. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles, including managing technicians. Who will you be working for?

NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company, we provide specialist vehicles on short and long-term hire, a range of vehicle maintenance packages and we offer a large portfolio of high-quality used vehicles for sale. NRG Riverside has the skills, knowledge, and expertise to support all your operational needs. Established in 1996, we’ve supported our valued customers to rationalise and decarbonise their fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing ‘Vehicle Off Road’ (VOR) time.

What candidate are we looking for?

Extensive experience from within a HGV Technician/ HGV Mechanic/ HGV Engineer role
Leadership- Experience within a management/ supervisory capacity is ideal but not essential
Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be great, but not essential
Municipal experience including working on Refuse trucks is a plus
Excellent customer service.
Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative.
Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.

What will be your duties?

As the Service Centre Manager your primary responsibility is the day to day supervision of workshop staff including allocation of daily workload, monitoring and controlling workshop quality, and ensuring productivity is at an optimum level
Motivate, coach and direct workshop staff as well as managing attendance, timekeeping, and rest breaks to ensure consistent productivity
Repair and maintenance of all fleet vehicles as required
Ensure all service and repairs meet customer and DVSA standards
Ensure productivity sheets are completed and passed to the administrator for processing
Ensure service and defect job cards are filled in and signed off correctly, ensuring standard times of service and repair are adhered to
Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed
Review and sign off vehicle service/job cards, ensuring information provide is correct and compliant before submission for close down
Liaise with Contract Manager on a daily basis to ensure the SLA customer requirement are met
Ensure housekeeping of the workshop is kept to a high standard and stores are kept tidy and well organised
Ordering of parts and other consumables
