Position: Teacher, flexible, hourly-paid
Subject/s: We are seeking new colleagues able to teach one or more of the following subjects at A Level and as part of our University Foundation Programme:
Biology [Biology B Edexcel (9BI0) ]
Economics [AQA 7136 ]
KS: FE/Key Stage 5 – A Levels (Level 3)
Seniority/Quals: This role is most suited to a teacher with experience in the classroom and demonstrable achievements in terms of student progression and achievement at A Level. Our foundational requirement is an undergraduate and postgraduate qualification directly relevant to the subject that you wish to teach. QTS is not required for this role.
Remuneration: Starting teaching hourly rate of £30 - more is available if you have particularly relevant postgraduate experience or qualifications.
Contract: Fixed Term, term-time only. Flexible hourly paid – no minimum hours. Opportunities for progression to permanent roles may be available as the college grows.
Hrs per week: 1 A level or UFP class = 3 x 90 mins classes per week/4.5 hours of teaching
Start Date: September 2026 onwards

With small classes of between 2 and 10 students, teachers will be able to offer exceptional support as they work with students towards meeting their ambitions, be that getting into a top University of their choice or building their confidence and a skill set which guarantees success in the modern jobs market.
Hours will be flexible and varied. Teaching responsibilities will be focused on 16+ A Level classes. There is the possibility of additional private 121 tuition which will be subject to additional payment.
The Candidate
We are seeking applicants able to show that they are enthusiastic and committed teachers, aware of and sympathetic to the needs of 16-25 year olds.
Applicants should be able to evidence the following experience/abilities:
· A good honours degree in the subject they wish to teach (Essential)
· A postgraduate qualification in the subject they wish to teach (either awarded or in progress – these roles are particularly suited to current PhD candidates).
· PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent post-graduate experience (Desirable but not essential)
· Evidence of sustained levels of success in learning and teaching and especially in improved student outcomes – preferably in terms of A Level results and progression to University. (Desirable)
· Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and key legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures (Essential)
· A genuine passion for teaching and learning (Essential)
· Highly motivated, proactive (both in and out of the classroom) with a keen sense of initiative, able to take responsibility when necessary (Essential)
· Able to demonstrate a positive and supportive attitude towards students and colleagues (Essential)
· Able to seek, review and apply best practice in teaching and learning. Students will be a mix of domestic and international and so experience of teaching international students will be an advantage (Desirable – training will be provided)
· Sensitivity towards and awareness of student’s academic and welfare needs (essential)
· Provides a safe learning environment (Essential)
· Able to build strong and productive relationships with students, colleagues, management, and parents alike (Essential)
· Highly organised, able to cope with administration related to the role (such as class materials preparation, attendance monitoring and reporting, production of class and student reports, examination, and testing, marking and feedback etc) (Essential)
· Able to create and deliver engaging and varied lessons to diverse groups of students, promote enthusiasm for and commitment to learning and adhere to all standards set for the College by the Principal. (Essential)
· We particularly welcome applications from teachers with experience acting as a SENCO

Successful candidates may be required to act as a personal tutor and undertake the administrative duties typical of any independent tutorial college environment.
