Deputy Care Navigation Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (will consider a job share)
Essential: Must work Mondays, Thursday and Fridays until 6pm, with one 630pm each week.
Salary: Starting from £14.50 per hour
Location: Both practice sites
Reports to: Rebecca Guria, Care Navigation Manager
This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator to take on a leadership position supporting the smooth running of our Care Navigation service at Combe Down Surgery.
About the Role
As Deputy Care Navigation Manager, you will support day-to-day operations, oversee Care Navigation and script teams, coordinate clinical rotas, and act as deputy to the Care Navigation Manager. The role involves problem-solving, supporting colleagues, and contributing to service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support front-of-house operations and ensure excellent patient experience
- Provide professional patient support in person and via the phone
- Maintain organised, welcoming reception and waiting areas
- Support daily clinical rota coordination and capacity planning, using Tempo
- Communicate rota changes and arrange locum cover when needed
- Provide team leadership, guidance, and support
- Assist with staff rotas, daily huddles, and team meetings
- Manage patient queries and use practice systems effectively (SystmOne, AccuRx)
- Deputise for the Care Navigation Manager when required
- Assist the Care Navigation Manager with staff training
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience in an administration and ideally a healthcare setting
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Calm under pressure, able to manage competing priorities
- Confident supporting and guiding colleagues
- Strong IT skills, including SystmOne
- Flexible, able to work across both sites
- Positive, proactive, and resilient
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills and contribute to improving patient access and care. You will have the opportunity, in due course, to undertake a Level 5 Apprenticeship or similar, to underpin your management training.
