Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of coffee and food items in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all customers. Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks
Assist customers with menu selections and provide excellent customer service
Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as required
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area in compliance with food safety standards
Operate coffee machines, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently
Manage cash register transactions accurately using basic maths skills
Restock supplies and ensure the café is presentable at all times
Follow health and safety regulations to uphold food safety standards
Assist with general cleaning duties to ensure a hygienic environment

Requirements

Previous barista experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Experience in serving customers in a busy environment with excellent interpersonal skills
Basic food preparation skills and understanding of hygiene practices
Good time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods
Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required
Strong organisational skills to keep the workspace clean and tidy at all times
