About the role
Balfour Beatty is seeking a highly organised and proactive Business Support Administrator to join our UKCS Living Places team in Lincolnshire. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of infrastructure and maintenance projects by providing comprehensive administrative and coordination support to operational teams.
Working closely with project teams, managers, site agents and suppliers, you'll help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of project activities, maintaining accurate records, processing documentation and supporting business-critical processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working collaboratively and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative support.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the day-to-day administration of project and office operations.
- Maintaining project records and ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Processing purchase requisitions and assisting with material procurement activities.
- Obtaining quotations and coordinating the ordering and delivery of materials.
- Arranging site deliveries, collections and waste management requirements.
- Supporting the management of project documentation and document control processes.
- Assisting with the preparation, formatting and distribution of project submissions and reports.
- Recording and distributing meeting minutes.
- Managing payroll timesheet submissions and maintaining holiday and sickness records.
- Completing plant hire administration and associated documentation.
- Supporting health, safety and environmental administration, including maintaining relevant records and statistics.
- Monitoring and collating records relating to toolbox talks and safety audits.
- Building positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and suppliers to support efficient project delivery.
- Providing general administrative support to the wider project team as required.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented administrator who is confident working in a busy project environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities.
You will have:
- Previous experience in an administrative, business support or office coordination role.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working with document management systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- The ability to create, maintain and manage databases and spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- A customer-focused approach and a collaborative working style.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
Desirable:
- Experience working within the construction, highways, infrastructure or civil engineering sectors.
- Previous experience supporting project teams in a client-facing environment.
