Job Description

Working within our Revenues & Processing and Collections & Recovery service teams, the post holder will contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of the Council’s Revenues & Benefits functions and Collection & Recovery functions.

The work of these service teams includes dealing with all matters relating to Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, Housing Benefits, Council Tax Reduction, Discretionary Housing Payments, Clothing Grants and Free School Meals, Income Collection, Debt Recovery and Scottish Welfare Fund in accordance with statutory legislation and regulations in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to those identified within the Finance and ICT Service Plan, the Council’s Digital Strategy and the Community Plan.

Responsibilities

The duties of this post requires access to the public sector network and therefore the successful applicant must complete a basic Disclosure Scotland application. The Individual

These are permanent part time posts based within Opera House, 8 John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock.

The hours of work are 17.5 hours per week to be worked:

Post 1:

Week 1 - Monday & Tuesday 9.00am - 5.00pm

Week 2 - Monday & Tuesday 9.00am - 5.00pm & Wednesday 9.00am - 4.10pm

Post 2:

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9.30am - 4.00pm

The full time salary of the posts is £27,937 - £29,247 per annum.

The actual part time salary of the posts is £13,968 - £14,623 per annum.

The workstyle for these posts is Flexible - 50% -79% of your time in an office location/ multiple work locations. You will work at your administrative base or another agreed office location between 2.5 to 4 days per week and only occasionally from home. It is the expectation that all office-based employees (with the exception of those working in schools) will work to the higher end of their allocated workstyle in terms of time spent in the office or at other work locations
