Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring brickwork structures with precision and attention to detail. Duties
- Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to specifications and blueprints
- Mix mortar and prepare materials required for bricklaying tasks
- Ensure the accuracy of structures through measurements and level checks
- Use hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and hammers efficiently
- Operate power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely
- Assist with the installation of other building components such as roofing or carpentry elements as needed
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite to ensure safety standards are met
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, roofers, or welders on complex projects
Requirements
- Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or related construction trades
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools essential for brickwork and masonry tasks
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations relevant to construction sites
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if required
- Experience with additional skills such as roofing or welding is advantageous but not essential
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred for site access and material transportation purposes
