Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Head of Private Client to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Barrow-in-Furness, Ulverston or Kendal on a permanent basis. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience, hybrid working options and the opportunity to lead a successful department within an employee-owned business. Based in Barrow-in-Furness, Ulverston or Kendal, with flexibility to work across other office locations where appropriate, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced private client solicitor looking to influence strategy, drive growth and develop a talented team.

About the Job

This Head of Private Client job offers the opportunity to take a leading position within a growing and respected legal practice. You will be responsible for the continued success and development of the department, helping to shape its future direction while ensuring the highest standards of service are maintained. Alongside strategic leadership responsibilities, you will remain actively involved in client work and play an important part in supporting colleagues and driving business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing leadership and direction to the Private Client Department
Driving departmental growth, performance and service excellence
Overseeing compliance, quality standards and risk management processes
Supporting the development, supervision and progression of legal and support staff
Contributing to business development activities and raising the department's profile
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts
Managing a varied caseload involving wills, trusts, probate and estate matters
Advising on lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters
Ensuring accurate management of departmental processes and procedures

About You

You will be an experienced private client solicitor who enjoys combining technical legal work with leadership responsibilities. This position would suit someone who is motivated by developing people, improving performance and contributing to the wider success of a business. You will be comfortable building relationships with clients and colleagues alike while maintaining high professional standards.

You’ll also be able to demonstrate the following:

Qualified Solicitor with substantial experience in private client law
Strong technical expertise across wills, probate, trusts and estate administration
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Proactive approach to leadership, problem solving and departmental development
Confident user of legal technology and case management systems
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Professional, ethical and committed approach to client service
Positive attitude with a collaborative and supportive management style
