What You’ll Do:
As our Marketing Manager for Versori by Avalara, you will own the end-to-end marketing motion for one of Avalara's most exciting growth products — an AI-native integration platform that compresses months of integration work into days. You will report to the Director of Sales – Versori and work closely with the broader Avalara marketing organization to build brand awareness, generate pipelines, and tell the Versori story through compelling content, events, and targeted campaigns.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Every day you will be building and executing the marketing programs that put Versori in front of the right buyers at the right time. Your work will span:
Marketing Analytics & Reporting
-
Define key metrics, build dashboards, and report on lead generation, conversion, campaign performance, pipeline influence, and return on marketing investment.
-
Turn data into clear, practical recommendations for Sales, Marketing, and GTM leadership, maintaining accurate tracking across Salesforce, Marketo, Google Analytics, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
Audience & Buyer Insights
-
Develop a deep understanding of Versori's target audiences using CRM data, campaign results, website analytics, sales feedback, and market research to identify high-potential segments and opportunities.
-
Translate those insights into actionable recommendations for campaign messaging, targeting, content, and creative.
Paid Media & Social Advertising
-
Own the strategy, setup, and optimization of Versori's paid acquisition activity across LinkedIn and Google Search, managing targeting, budgets, bidding, and conversion tracking, while also running Versori's organic social presence.
-
Work with the Marketing & Design Lead to brief and test creative, messaging, and landing pages, and recommend new paid channels and retargeting strategies based on performance data.
Demand Generation
-
Plan and execute demand generation programs across paid media, email, landing pages, and account targeting to create qualified interest and support pipeline growth.
-
Ensure every campaign has clear audiences, objectives, conversion journeys, and measurement frameworks before launch.
Account-Based Marketing (ABM)
-
Work with Sales to identify and prioritize target accounts across Versori's key sectors (including retail, ERP, hospitality, and SaaS) and build targeted ABM programs with personalized campaign recommendations.
-
Track account engagement, buying signals, and pipeline progression to understand where ABM activity is having the greatest impact.
Campaign Optimization
-
Continuously analyze campaign performance and design structured tests across audiences, creative, copy, landing pages, and calls to action to improve targeting, messaging, and conversion.
-
Make evidence-based recommendations on what Versori should stop, start, or scale.
Events & Field Marketing
-
Plan, coordinate, and execute Versori's presence at industry events (e.g., Shoptalk, ERP and retail tech conferences), including booth logistics, speaker submissions, pre- and post-event campaigns, and social amplification.
Content, Collateral & Customer Stories
-
Work alongside Versori's Brand Manager to create and develop sales enablement assets, one-pagers, email sequences, and landing page copy that support the full buyer journey from awareness through to closed-won.
-
Interview customers (including enterprise accounts such as Walmart, Syspro, and J&J Fulfillment) to write and produce compelling case studies that demonstrate measurable ROI, and manage the approval and publication process end to end.
Marketing Operations & Attribution
-
Help improve the systems, processes, and data required to run effective marketing programs.
-
Work with Sales and Avalara marketing teams to improve lead routing, attribution, lifecycle reporting, and visibility from first touch through to pipeline and revenue.
Workflow & Project Management
-
Organize and maintain the marketing calendar, manage agency and freelancer relationships, track campaign deliverables in project management tools, and ensure cross-functional alignment between Sales, Product, and the Avalara central marketing team.
Sales & Marketing Alignment
-
Partner closely with the Director of GTM to ensure marketing activity supports commercial priorities, sharing audience and campaign insights with Sales to identify funnel gaps and recommend targeted programs.
-
Help ensure marketing and sales are working from a consistent view of audiences, campaign performance, and lead quality.
Marketing Planning
-
Contribute to the Versori marketing calendar by recommending campaigns, channel activity, and investment based on data and commercial priorities.
-
Work collaboratively with the Marketing & Design Lead, who will own much of the campaign creative, content production, brand execution, events, and customer storytelling.
What You'll Need to be Successful:
Experience & Execution
-
You have produced B2B case studies and customer success stories from scratch. You know how to get a customer to say yes, conduct the interview, and turn it into content that converts.
-
You have planned and executed field marketing or event program, including logistics, vendor management, and post-event follow-up, for a SaaS or technology company.
-
You have run ABM campaigns using tools such as Salesforce, 6sense, DemandBase, or similar, and can demonstrate pipeline influence as a result.
-
You have managed paid social and search campaigns on LinkedIn and Google. You understand targeting, creative testing, keyword strategy, bidding, conversion tracking, and budget optimization.
-
You have built or managed demand generation campaigns for a B2B SaaS, technology, or enterprise software company, and you understand how marketing contributes to pipeline.
-
You can write clearly and compellingly for a technical and commercial audience. You do not need an engineer to translate the product for you.
Analytical & Commercial Mindset
-
You are highly analytical and naturally curious about why campaigns perform the way they do. You use marketing data to make practical recommendations, not simply produce reports.
-
You understand how to measure lead quality, conversion, attribution, and campaign influence, and can turn complex data into clear recommendations that commercial and creative teams can act on.
-
You are comfortable working with CRM, marketing automation, and analytics platforms such as Salesforce, Marketo, Google Analytics, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
-
You understand B2B audience segmentation, buyer journeys, and account-based marketing principles.
Ways of Working
-
You are comfortable working independently, challenging assumptions, and making informed recommendations to senior stakeholders.
-
You are organized, able to manage multiple campaigns, reports, and optimization workstreams simultaneously, and use project management tools (Asana, Notion, Monday.com, or similar) to keep stakeholders informed.
-
You communicate clearly and work closely with Sales, creative teams, and wider marketing stakeholders.
