Full job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Prosthetist to join our team in Cambridge, looking for the next step in their career in leading a friendly, motivated team of prosthetists.

The role will involve working with a complex clinical case load and therefore clinical expertise in at least one area of prosthetics is essential, but there will also be opportunities to develop into different specialities. The role holder will be instrumental in managing the Prosthetic Clinical Team and in providing support and insight to the technical team and wider NHS multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to advance and improve the delivery of the service.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Clinical Management Team within Opcare, and will provide mentoring support to less experienced Prosthetists, Graduates, and Students. There will be ample opportunity to develop both clinical and managerial skills, enhancing professional development while supporting the service.

We aim to deliver a first-class service for users whilst applying the most advanced clinical and technical solutions available to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

· Line management of the Prosthetics Clinical Team.

· Reporting responsibilities with regards to delivery of the service in line with NHS and internal key performance indicators.

· Ensure the delivery of high-quality care for all patients and the smooth running of the service.

· Work closely with MDT’s across Cambridgeshire and the wider Trust including Surgeons and Consultants.

· Supporting more junior colleagues using clinical knowledge, experience and best practice.

· Mentoring Graduates and Students.

· Coordinate and contribute to in-service training sessions.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

· Proven practical experience working successfully as a Prosthetist.

· Committed to the highest standards of patient care.

· Proven experience of working within high performing teams.

· Positive and proactive ’can-do’ attitude.

· Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships internally and externally.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable:

· Previous management or mentoring experience is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must possess one of the following qualifications:

· Certified Prosthetist

· HND Prosthetics

· BSc Prosthetics

And in addition, must have:

· Full HCPC Registration

· The ability to meet the requirements of an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check
