Position: Apprentice Lift Engineer

Location: Barnoldswick and surrounding areas

Are you interested in embarking on an exciting career journey in Lift Engineering? Proteclifts Ltd invites a passionate individual to join our team as we offer a comprehensive training program covering lift installation, maintenance, and beyond.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to work alongside one of our qualified lift engineers, gaining invaluable hands-on experience while pursuing a fully accredited NVQ certification in lift installation. This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience while earning a competitive salary. You will be taught everything you require to become a fully qualified lift engineer, including the engineering principles and electronics knowledge that enables you to carry out repairs and installations.

Reliability and punctuality - this is key.
Enthusiasm for learning and a keen interest in engineering.

Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
College attendance and completion of coursework within deadlines to the best of your ability.
Experience working on the tools or a related role would be preferred.
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles would be preferred.
Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and organisation skills.
Have strong attention to detail and precision.
Happy to travel to sites – UK wide.
Happy to work away when commuting is not always possible.
Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in lift engineering.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

Barnoldswick and surrounding areas: able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred).

Education:

GCSE or equivalent - Minimum of GCSE Grade 4 - 9 (A-C) passes in Maths and English.

Licence/Certification:

Full clean driving licence with no points or convictions.

Training:

You will shadow a fully qualified lift engineer to put skills to practice and gain invaluable hands-on experience while pursuing a fully accredited NVQ certification in lift installation. After 1 year working with Proteclifts, you will be enrolled onto a college course to obtain your qualification. This can be completed between 1-3 years, attending college once a month. You must complete the coursework within the given deadlines to the best of your ability.
