Job Overview

Innovate Diagnostics is seeking an/two additional experienced BSE Accredited Cardiac Physiologist(s) to support the delivery of an outsourced community echocardiography service in Northamptonshire.

The successful candidate(s) will independently perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms using GE Vivid IQ ultrasound equipment within an exisiting, well-established outpatient diagnostic service.

The service will operate five days per week from September 2026, creating opportunities for additional regular work. This is a minimum of 9 months with a review of service to be ongoing indeindefinitely.

Duties

Perform detailed transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiograms in accordance with BSE guidelines.
Analyse and interpret cardiac images to assist cardiologists in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all data is correctly documented and stored securely.
Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process clearly and ensuring their comfort throughout.
Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques to minimise infection risk during invasive procedures.
Assist with quality assurance programmes, including equipment calibration and maintenance checks.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.

Requirements

Recognised qualification as a Cardiac Physiologist with accreditation from the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE).
Proven experience in performing echocardiography, including transthoracic and transoesophageal techniques.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to cardiac imaging.
Proficiency in sonography and familiarity with advanced ultrasound equipment utilised in cardiac assessments.
Demonstrated understanding of aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during invasive procedures.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in recording and analysing diagnostic data.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team whilst maintaining high standards of patient care. This role offers an engaging environment for professional growth, with opportunities to enhance skills within a recognised cardiology department committed to clinical excellence.
