Graduate Smart Systems Integration Engineer

Salary: From £27,000 per year, rising to£35,000 per year after 12 months.

About The Wall Shop Ltd

The Wall Shop Ltd designs and delivers premium integrated media and smart wall solutions for residential and commercial spaces. We are developing next-generation smart wall systems that combine lighting, audio, CCTV, and intelligent automation into a seamless user experience. We are looking for a technically minded graduate or junior engineer to support the design and development of the internal architecture of our smart wall systems. Working closely with the founders, you will help integrate Orvibo MixPad controllers with AV, lighting, and security technologies and contribute to a real product being built from the ground up.

The Role : This is a practical, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys building, testing, and solving real-world technical challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the integration of Orvibo MixPad systems
Assisting with smart lighting control solutions
Working with audio and sound distribution systems
Integrating CCTV and IP camera technologies
Configuring smart home networking components
Contributing to internal component layout and assembly
Developing and testing device communication and automation logic

Please note: This is a fully on-site role based at our Glasgow manufacturing and development facility. Daily attendance at the factory is required as the position involves hands-on product development, system integration, testing, prototype assembly, and close collaboration with the wider team. The role cannot be performed remotely.

Desired Skills & Experience; We value curiosity, practical ability, and problem-solving more than years of experience. Useful experience may include:

Home Assistant
Raspberry Pi, ESP32, or Arduino
MQTT or other smart home protocols
Networking and Wi-Fi configuration
CCTV and IP camera systems
Audio/AV systems
Android-based smart devices
IoT projects or maker experience
Basic electronics and wiring
Python, Node.js, or other scripting experience

Personal projects, university work, and hobby experience are highly valued.

Ideal Candidate

Recent graduate or early-career engineer
Curious, practical, and eager to learn
Comfortable working independently
Interested in smart homes, IoT, and automation
Happy working in a startup environment
Detail-oriented and willing to experiment
