Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 pro-rata, depending on experience.

Tom Wylie Jewellery Ltd is a specialist manufacturer of fine, luxury jewellery, with over 20 years’ experience in the jewellery industry. Based in Erskine, the business delivers a highly skilled end-to-end service, with every stage of the manufacturing process carried out in-house, from initial CAD design through to final stone setting.
Alongside the jewellery business, Tom Wylie Machinery supplies jewellery production machinery, equipment, training and services to the jewellery trade. The business provides a turnkey solution for customers looking to set up a new workshop or upgrade an existing one, working only with machinery brands that have been tried, tested and approved by the team.
Role purpose
Tom Wylie Jewellery is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Marketing & Sales Co-ordinator to lead a focused 6-month project to develop, implement and evaluate a social media marketing and sales strategy, primarily for the machinery side of the business.
The purpose of the role is to increase awareness of Tom Wylie Machinery, improve engagement with relevant audiences, and support the generation of new sales enquiries. This is a hands-on role suited to a recent marketing graduate or early-career marketer who is confident creating content, managing social media activity and helping turn interest into commercial opportunity.
Subject to the success of the project, there may be an opportunity for the role to become permanent.
Key responsibilities
Marketing strategy and planning
- Develop a clear 6-month social media marketing and sales plan for Tom Wylie Machinery.
- Identify key audiences, including jewellery makers, workshops, trade customers, start-up jewellers and businesses looking to upgrade their production capability.
- Translate Tom Wylie Machinery’s offer into clear, engaging messaging that explains the value of its machinery, equipment, training and services.
- Create a practical content calendar aligned to business priorities, product focus areas and sales opportunities.
Social media and content creation
- Create and schedule regular social media content across relevant channels.
- Develop posts, captions, short-form video ideas, photography prompts, product spotlights, educational content and customer-facing updates.
- Showcase the machinery offer in a way that is clear, professional and commercially engaging.
- Work with the internal team to gather product knowledge, technical insight, images, videos and demonstrations.
- Help present complex or technical information in a simple and accessible way for customers.
Sales support and lead generation
- Use social media and digital activity to support awareness, enquiries and sales conversations.
- Identify opportunities to encourage engagement, including direct enquiries, comments, shares and follow-up conversations.
- Support the creation of simple sales assets, such as product explainers, email content, social graphics or customer information sheets.
- Help develop a joined-up approach between marketing activity and sales follow-up.
- Track potential leads or enquiries generated through marketing activity.
Campaign delivery
- Plan and deliver focused campaigns around key machinery products, services, training or workshop solutions.
- Test different types of content to understand what drives the strongest response from the target audience.
- Recommend improvements based on performance, engagement and sales feedback.
Reporting and evaluation
- Monitor social media performance, engagement, reach, enquiries and other relevant measures.
- Prepare simple monthly updates summarising activity, results, learning and recommendations.
- Evaluate the success of the 6-month project against agreed objectives.
- Provide recommendations for future marketing and sales activity beyond the initial project period.
Skills and experience required
Essential
- A marketing degree or relevant marketing qualification.
- Strong understanding of social media marketing and content creation.
- Good copywriting skills, with the ability to write clearly and confidently.
- Creative thinking and the ability to generate content ideas.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a 6-month project plan.
- Comfortable working with a technical or specialist product area.
- Good attention to detail.
- Confident communication skills.
- A proactive, hard-working and enthusiastic approach.
- Ability to work on site and collaborate closely with the internal team.
Desirable
- Experience using social media scheduling tools.
- Basic design skills using Canva, Adobe Express or similar.
- Experience creating short-form video content.
- Understanding of lead generation or sales-focused marketing.
- Interest in jewellery, luxury products, manufacturing, design, machinery or craft-based industries.
- Experience working in a small business environment.
