CITYHR UK LTD
Glasgow | Full-Time | Permanent
Help us build something new.
We're launching CITYHR UK LTD, a new HR and people consultancy designed to give SMEs access to their own professional HR department without the cost of employing an entire HR team.
We're therefore looking for an experienced, commercially minded HR professional to join us at the beginning of the journey and help us build CITYHR.
This isn't a traditional HR Manager position.
You'll have two key responsibilities:
Firstly, you'll take ownership of our own internal HR function, ensuring our people, policies, procedures and employment practices are properly managed.
Secondly and most importantly, you'll help us build CITYHR into a successful outsourced HR business, supporting external SME clients across Scotland and the wider UK.
What you'll be doing:
You'll take responsibility for areas including:
- Employment contracts and employee handbooks
- HR policies and procedures
- Employee relations
- Disciplinary and grievance matters
- Absence and performance management
- Recruitment and onboarding
- Redundancy and restructuring support
- Employment law and HR compliance
- Manager guidance and support
- HR audits and health checks
- Staff development and retention
- Building long-term relationships with CITYHR clients
You'll also work directly with the Managing Director to develop our service packages, pricing, processes and overall CITYHR proposition.
Who we're looking for:
We're looking for someone who knows HR inside out but also understands business.
Ideally, you'll:
- Be CIPD qualified or have substantial equivalent HR experience
- Have strong UK employment law knowledge
- Have hands-on employee relations experience
- Be confident dealing directly with business owners and senior management
- Be comfortable managing several businesses and HR requirements simultaneously
- Be practical, personable and commercially minded
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Want more than simply another corporate HR role
Previous HR consultancy or outsourced HR experience would be a major advantage.
Why this role is different:
You're not joining an established HR department and inheriting somebody else's way of doing things.
You'll have the opportunity to help create the business from the beginning.
We want the successful person to have a genuine say in what CITYHR becomes from how we deliver our services and look after clients to the systems, processes and packages we introduce.
The ambition is simple:
Build an HR company that SMEs genuinely enjoy dealing with.
No faceless call centres. No passing clients between different advisers.
Professional, commercially sensible HR advice from people who actually know their client's business.
If you're an experienced HR professional who has ever thought, “I'd love to build an HR consultancy, but I don't necessarily want the risk of doing it alone,” this could be a very interesting opportunity.
Pay: £36,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
