Overview
Gathering Ground is a food-led community café & event space in Glasgow. We use food as a platform to create change within the community, build connections & inspire people to engage with good food.
We are situated in a beautiful C-Listed former Lock Keeper House (Old Basin House) and have been working hard to transform the space into a hub for the local community.
We have an opportunity for a new team member to join us as a Barista/ All Rounder; working within our social enterprise café and helping to serve & prep coffee & food from our menu.
This is an opportunity to join a small, supportive and friendly team where you will get to engage with the local community and serve great food & coffee.
Job Description
We are looking for a Part-Time Barista/ All-rounder (10-15 Hours per week + Potential Overtime) to join the existing cafe team.
The shift times will be Wednesday - Sunday between 11-4PM working 2-3 days per week. There will also be the opportunity for additional overtime for private & special events.
The successful applicant should be a skilled barista, proactive, can work flexibly, efficiently and to an excellent standard.
Key Duties
- Making Coffee & Hot Drinks
- Basic Food Preparation & Serving
- Customer Service
- Cleaning
- Closing/ Opening Shop
- Other duties to support cafe team/ operation & just pitching in where needed
The Ideal Candidate
- Friendly personality and ability to work as a part of a team
- Min 2 Years Barista Experience
- Ability to do consistent simple latte art
- Knowledgeable & Passionate about coffee & food
- Proactive & uses initiative
- Excellent customer service
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene
- Experience with handling food in a hospitality setting
- A good work ethic
