We are seeking a motivated CAD Technician to join our growing engineering team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of infrastructure and energy sector projects by producing high-quality engineering drawings and models using AutoCAD. Experience with Revit, and BIM workflows would be advantageous. Working closely with experienced engineers and Civil Design technicians, the role offers exposure to a diverse range of civil engineering projects and provides opportunities for both technical and professional development.
Full training and mentoring will be provided to candidates who demonstrate strong CAD skills, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude. Key Responsibilities The role will involve the production, development, and maintenance of technical drawings and models including: General Arrangement Drawings Site Layout Drawings Drainage Layouts and Details Earthworks Drawings Cable Duct and Trench Layouts / Details Ground Investigation Layouts Reinforced Concrete (RC) Detailing (preferred but not a requirement) Concrete Layouts and Details Steelwork Layouts and Details Site Access Arrangements A key part of the role will be interpreting engineer mark-ups, survey information, sketches, and preliminary design information, and developing these into accurate, coordinated, and buildable construction drawings. The successful candidate will also support temporary works and construction planning activities, including: Haul Roads Working Platforms Construction Phase Layouts Working Environment The successful candidate will work within a collaborative engineering team alongside experienced engineers and Civil design technicians. The role offers direct mentorship from a Senior Chartered Civil Engineer and exposure to a wide range of infrastructure and energy sector projects. Regular site visits may be required to develop an understanding of construction methodologies and to appreciate how engineering designs are translated into built assets. Essential Requirements Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related technical qualification. 1–4 years' relevant industry experience. Proficient in AutoCAD. Experience producing civil and/or structural engineering drawings. Ability to interpret engineer mark-ups, survey information, and sketches. Strong attention to detail and understanding of engineering drawing standards. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative design team. Driving license and able to commute to workplace Desirable Skills & Experience Experience using AutoCAD. Experience using Revit. Knowledge of BIM processes and model coordination.
