NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a fixed term post of 12 months.

Applications are invited for a fixed term Consultant Urological Prostate Surgeon with a speciality interest in robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy [RALP]. This post will be available from June 2026.

The successful applicant must be experienced in dealing with patients with prostate cancer and performing RALP. The post holder will work closely with our three established RALP surgeons and prostate clinical nurse specialists. The out of hours commitment will be a 1 in 11 on-call rota. You should be an appropriately trained individual who is able to provide a urologicalservice at consultant level. The elective sessions relating to the post will be delivered from the QEUH, Victoria Ambulatory Care Facility and Gartnavel General Hospital. The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis.

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once CESR is awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
