Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stonemason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping, installing, and repairing stonework on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and heritage sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise specialised masonry skills within a dynamic and professional environment. Applicants should have a strong background in construction-related trades and a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

shaping and laying natural or manufactured stone for building facades, walls, and decorative features
Preparing surfaces and foundations prior to stone installation
Repairing or restoring existing stone structures with care and attention to detail
Operating hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
Collaborating with other trades such as carpentry, roofing, plumbing, electrical work, and construction painting to ensure project cohesion
Maintaining a clean and organised worksite to adhere to safety standards
Ensuring all work complies with relevant building codes and safety regulations

Skills

Proven experience in masonry with a strong portfolio of completed projects
Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, and fabrication is advantageous
Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, trowels, as well as power tools including angle grinders and drills
Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan work efficiently
Excellent attention to detail to produce high-quality finishes
Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients

This position is for 2 month period and consists mainly in installing the completed cut stone into existing buildings.

Pay: £18.00 per hour
