Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier / Logistics Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and safe transportation, handling, and distribution of goods while ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency. Duties
- Collect, transport, and deliver goods to designated locations within specified timeframes.
- Plan and follow delivery schedules and routes to maximise efficiency and minimise delays.
- Load, unload, sort, and handle parcels, packages, and goods safely and accurately.
- Ensure all items are transported securely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams, customers, and colleagues regarding deliveries, collections, or operational issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, signatures, and proof of service.
- Conduct routine vehicle and equipment checks to ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
- Adhere to all traffic regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with warehouse, distribution, and inventory-related activities when required.
- Support the smooth running of daily logistics operations and contribute to achieving service targets.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in courier services, logistics, delivery operations, warehousing, or a similar role is preferred.
- Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record (where driving duties are required).
- Experience within a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment would be advantageous.
- Ability to safely perform manual handling and heavy lifting tasks when required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Familiarity with local routes, transport regulations, and navigation systems is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Physically fit and capable of meeting the demands of logistics and courier operations.
