Job summary

As an Information Management Officer, youll play a key role in improving how information is organised, managed, and used across the organisation. Youll help shape effective information management and digital practices, working with tools like SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to ensure content is structured, accessible, and supports efficient ways of working. Job description

In this role, youll support the delivery of effective information management practices across the organisation, working with colleagues to ensure information is well structured, easy to find, and managed in line with policy and legislation. Youll contribute to the design and improvement of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams sites, provide clear guidance to users, and help ensure information is stored and maintained in a consistent and compliant way. Youll also support the handling of Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) requests, providing advice, managing processes, and assisting with responses and reviews.

Youll be responsible for maintaining high standards of information governance and compliance, ensuring processes are followed correctly and continuously improved. This includes delivering training, developing guidance, and supporting projects to increase organisational maturity in information management. Youll work closely with stakeholders across digital and business areas, take ownership of your work, and ensure that information is managed securely, accurately, and in line with organisational priorities.

Salary

New entrants to the Civil Service are expected to start on the minimum of the pay band. Internal rules apply to existing Civil Servants, i.e. level transfers move on current salary or the pay range minimum, transfers on promotion move to new pay range minimum or receive 10% increase. Either case is determined by whichever is the highest.

This role is being advertised at HEO Grade which has a salary of £37,579

Working hours:

Standard working week is 37 hours, part time at 30 hours or above, flexible working hours policy available.

This role is contractually based at our office in Bristol, 10-minute walk from Temple Meads train station. We recognise and value the mutual benefits of hybrid working and have a flexible approach to in person attendance, which can vary dependent on the requirements of individual business units - the details of which can be discussed with candidates if invited to attend an interview.
