About the role
As an Editor and co-owner of Haremi, you’ll work as part of a collaborative team producing high‑quality print and digital educational content. No two projects are quite the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on materials for learners of all ages.
You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and delivered on time and on budget. This is a hands‑on role that suits someone who is methodical, organised, and able to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
Our office is based in Cheltenham, and thanks to our ‘working appropriately’ policy, we offer meaningful flexibility – including hybrid working and adjusting your hours across the week.
Day to day, you’ll use your editorial skills to:
- Copy edit educational content to detailed briefs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with curriculum and client requirements
- Apply house styles, templates, and editorial guidelines consistently across all components and products
- Review content at multiple stages of the editorial process, identifying issues early and logging clear, actionable feedback
- Apply the principles of good learning design to content, supporting clarity, progression, and effective learning outcomes
- Create, maintain, and update editorial briefs to support contributors and ensure shared understanding of requirements
- Commission artwork and work with designers to ensure visual elements meet editorial and accessibility standards
- Identify efficient ways of working and contribute to the continuous improvement of editorial processes and workflows
- Stay alert to learning opportunities and developments in educational publishing and digital innovation
- Engage positively with Haremi as a whole, having fun along the way and actively championing our values.
You’ll also need to be flexible and willing to step outside your core role from time to time to help the team achieve wider project goals.
How to apply
You’ll need previous experience in an editorial role, preferably working on curriculum‑aligned content, and experience collaborating within fast‑paced, structured workflows. Some of our editors also bring subject‑specific knowledge or previous teaching experience, although this is not always essential.
