Join Our Team as a Mental Health Recovery Worker
Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Role: Part-time, 21 hours per week, 3 days per week.
(Full-time equivalent salary - £24,545 per annum)
The role - 2 days based in Stroud and 1 day based in Gloucester (This is potentially flexible)
Working across three sites in Stroud, this role will require visiting people in their homes, as well as Eagle Mill Close where the office is situated.

This role requires a Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.

Our Stroud service provides high-quality, independent housing and tailored support for people with mental health needs. We are dedicated to helping individuals live as independently as possible, empowering them to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve the goals that matter most to them.
Through person-centred support, we work closely with tenants to create personalised support plans that promote wellbeing, independence, and social inclusion. Our dedicated team provides emotional support, practical guidance, and encouragement with day-to-day living, helping individuals manage their tenancy, maintain their health and wellbeing, access community resources, and develop the skills needed for independent living.
We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where people feel respected, valued, and able to have their voices heard. By working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, local services, and other partner agencies, we ensure that tenants receive coordinated support that reflects their individual needs, strengths, and aspirations. Our aim is to help people build meaningful, fulfilling lives within their communities and achieve positive, lasting outcomes.

What I will do and achieve:
Are you passionate about empowering people to live independently and achieve their goals? Working with an allocated group of tenants, you’ll support individuals experiencing mental ill health to promote independence and sustain tenancies. You’ll assess needs and risks, working in a person-centred, recovery-focused way to help people build confidence and thrive in the community.

Provide key worker support, including one-to-one assistance and liaising with mental health agencies.
Use communication, motivation, and coaching to help individuals achieve personal goals.
Build trust and rapport based on respect and honesty, maintaining professional boundaries and following the Rethink Mental Illness Code of Conduct.
Support day-to-day service operations, including property re-lets, processing referrals, and ensuring health and safety across schemes.
Encourage engagement in social and workplace activities, helping individuals regain confidence and independence.

Essential skills and experience:

Experience supporting people with mental illness in a social care setting
Good listening skills, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn.
Ability to clearly demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Charity's values.
Excellent administration, organisation and planning skills.
Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft applications, email and internet.
