Today, we regulate employment agencies, license gangmasters in the agricultural and horticultural sectors, tackle serious labour abuse and modern slavery, and enable enforcement of the National Minimum Wage.

Job description

As the Digital Forensics, Communications Data and CCTV Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of high‑quality digital investigation services that support the organisations operational and strategic objectives. You will act as a champion for digital capabilities, promoting their effective use across all levels and ensuring colleagues understand how these services can enhance investigations and decision‑making. A key part of the role is establishing and maintaining robust governance. You will design and implement standard operating procedures and policies that reflect legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring quality, consistency and compliance across all digital forensic, communications data and CCTV activity

Key responsibilities:

Advocating and promoting digital investigation services and capabilities to the organisation at all levels to make use of the service and support the delivery of our aims and objectives.
Identifying opportunities and resources to support technical knowledge and capability of the digital investigation team to develop and provide an improved service.
Devising and implementing standard operating policies, procedures, and processes based on legal and regulatory requirements in order to maintain quality standards.
Collaborating with all our partners digital investigation teams to share good practice and maintain expertise.
Devising and implementing standard operating policies, procedures, and processes based on legal and regulatory requirements in order to maintain quality standards and effectively manage the digital investigation team's technical operations.

This role has an expectation that you will be able to attend the Nottingham office, where the Digital Lab is situated on a regular basis.

Person specification

When giving details in your employment history and personal statement you should highlight your experience in line with the essential criteria.

Essential Criteria

Proven demonstrable experience of managing a team working within a Digital Forensic environment
Proficiency with Cellebrite software or one of the other current mainstream tools
Experience in examining mobile and/or computer devices
Demonstrate experience of onsite acquisition of digital devices
Experience and knowledge in performing Digital Forensic Examinations: be able to demonstrate case experience within either the law enforcement or civil work environment
Be knowledgeable of ISO 17025, 2017 Standard and Forensic Science Regulators Codes of Practice
Knowledge of Communications Data Code of Practice
Experience in writing and implementing new standard operating procedures to keep pace with the changes the industry
Experience in reviewing digital data and presenting it in a court ready format.
Full Drivers Licence

Desirable Criteria

Experience reviewing and presenting CCTV footage as part of an Investigation
Working knowledge of Section 37 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022
Experience with onsite digital forensics investigations involving vulnerable people
Hold Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO) and Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA) certifications

Licences

Selection process

Sift Information

At sift you will be assessed on your Personal Statement and CV. Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be undertaken using the CV. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift, or progressed straight to assessment / interview.

Interviews will be conducted w/c 10 August. Interviews may be conducted either in person or virtually (via video conferencing). Candidates will be advised of the format in advance.

Hybrid Working

At FWA, we are proud to be able to offer our people the opportunity to work in a hybrid way which combines working from home and the office. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement, and your allocated office will be your contractual place of work.

There will be a requirement to travel to the office for various activities, e.g., collaborative working, supporting and training colleagues. If hybrid working is suitable for you and your role, you will be expected to attend the office, or other business-related site, for 40% of your working week. The arrangements will be determined primarily by business need, but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account.
