PLS Civil Engineering are an established contractor delivering a diverse range of interesting projects up to £10m across the UK, spanning utilities installations, highways, rail and infrastructure. We are recruiting an experienced Traffic Marshall (Vehicle Plant Marshall) to work on a 68km HV ducting project. You will be responsible for the safe movement of vehicles and plant around site, keeping people and machinery safely apart and keeping deliveries flowing.
Duties
- Directing and banking vehicles, plant and deliveries on and off site
- Controlling reversing manoeuvres and lifting/loading operations
- Maintaining segregation between pedestrians and moving vehicles
- Enforcing the site traffic management plan, speed limits and one-way systems
- Checking drivers are inducted and briefed before entering the working area
- Setting up and maintaining barriers, cones and signage
- Reporting near misses, hazards and incidents to the site management team
Requirements
Essential
- Valid CSCS card
- Right to work in the UK
- Good communication skills and confidence directing drivers
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable working outdoors in all weathers
Desirable
- Plant Vehicle Marshall ticket (training can be considered for the right candidate)
- Previous experience on civils or heavy industrial sites
