Job Opportunity: Senior Buyer
Location: Harworth, Doncaster DN11 8QA
Full time
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits

About Us
JHM Butt and Co Ltd is a garage and workshop equipment supplier based in Harworth, Doncaster, supplying tools, lifts, MOT bay equipment and workshop equipment to customers including Halfords Autocentres, Kwik Fit, Royal Mail and NHS ambulance trusts. We have been trading since 1971 and continue to grow both our product range and our field service operation.

The Role
As Senior Buyer, you will take ownership of key supplier relationships, lead negotiations, and manage procurement across your category. You will work closely with operations, finance and sales to make sure we source the right products at the right value, and to keep supply reliable as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute category strategy aligned with business goals
Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation and performance management
Monitor market trends and identify cost saving opportunities
Work with internal teams to forecast demand and manage stock levels
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards
Continuously improve procurement processes and systems

What We're Looking For
Proven experience in a senior procurement or buying role, 5 or more years
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Good analytical and commercial acumen
Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools
A proactive, collaborative and results driven approach
CIPS qualification or working towards it is a plus
