We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team at Moorland, a specialist residential service supporting adults with a range of mental health needs alongside physical health conditions and disabilities.

About the Role
As our Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with residents, care staff, families, and healthcare professionals to assess individual needs and develop person-centred interventions. You will play a key role in enabling people to maximise their independence, maintain daily living skills, and participate in activities that promote physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
· Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments.
· Develop and implement individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.
· Support residents to develop or maintain skills for daily living.
· Assess and recommend appropriate equipment, adaptations, and environmental modifications.
· Facilitate therapeutic group and one-to-one interventions.
· Promote meaningful occupation, social inclusion, and engagement in activities.
· Work collaboratively with nursing staff, care teams, GPs, mental health professionals, and external agencies.
· Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, reviews, and outcome monitoring.
· Provide guidance, training, and support to care staff on therapeutic approaches and best practice.
· Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional standards.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
· Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
· Degree-qualified in Occupational Therapy.
· Experienced in mental health settings, care homes, rehabilitation, or community services.
· Knowledgeable about working with individuals who have complex mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, personality disorders, or dementia.
· Confident supporting people with physical health needs and mobility challenges.
· Passionate about person-centred care and promoting independence.
· An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
· Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
· Experience within residential care or specialist mental health services.
· Knowledge of sensory approaches, recovery-focused practice, and vocational rehabilitation.
· Experience supervising support staff or therapy assistants.
