Due to increased workload, we are now recruiting for an experienced Section or Senior Engineer for our Eastern Region, initially working on an infrastructure project in Colchester. This is a permanent role.
The main purpose of the role is to progress the construction process and assist in delivering the project.
Initial Main Duties:
· Liaise with site management to complete quality take offs.
· Develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities / issues with the project.
· Develop knowledge and ability in completing hazard / risk assessments and method statements, including alerting relevant personnel to control measures and work methods therein.
· Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification.
· Train, manage and mentor junior engineers.
· Manage sectional setting out requirements on site.
· Manage the sectional service plans/ drawings. Issue permits accordingly.
· Assist the QS / Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes.
· Manage the as built requirements of your section and contribute to the completion of the site health and safety file.
· Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.
Are you the person we are looking for?
The ideal candidate will have a good background in Civil Engineering schemes with experience at least to Section Engineer level, working with the NEC form of contract, as well as infrastructure experience including structures and highways. Must also be computer literate including the use of CAD and have a CSCS card in the appropriate discipline and have a BSc/ HND/ HNC qualification. You will have a strong understanding of ITPs and quality assurance process alongside good leadership skills and understanding of construction practices.
Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our Eastern Region. A First Aid at Work qualification would also be desirable.
