We are looking for an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our client base and play a key role in expanding the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced healthcare recruitment professional who thrives on winning new business, building long-term relationships, and helping scale a growing recruitment operation within the North east.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will take full responsibility for generating new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and growing the branch revenue.
You will be responsible for identifying and securing new healthcare clients while maintaining excellent relationships with existing accounts. You will work closely with recruitment, compliance, and the operations teams to ensure high service delivery standards are maintained.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone with strong commercial awareness, healthcare recruitment experience, and the drive to build and grow a successful desk and client portfolio.
You will also participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota to support operational needs and ensure excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Development
- Generate and secure new healthcare recruitment business
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans
- Identify new market opportunities within healthcare staffing
- Build long-term relationships with high-value healthcare clients
- Attend networking events, client meetings, and industry events
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements
Client Relationship Management
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention
- Conduct regular client visits and service reviews
- Handle escalations and resolve client concerns professionally
Recruitment Collaboration
- Work closely with recruitment consultants to ensure staffing requirements are fulfilled
- Support the delivery team in securing high-quality candidates
- Collaborate with compliance and operations teams to maintain service standards
Operational Support
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota
- Support emergency staffing requirements when needed
- Ensure excellent communication and responsiveness to clients and candidates
Requirements Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within healthcare recruitment
- Proven experience in business development within the healthcare recruitment sector
- Strong track record of winning and growing client accounts
- Excellent knowledge of the healthcare staffing industry
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Commercially driven and target focused
- Ability to build long-term business relationships
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Existing network of healthcare clients
- Experience supplying care homes, nursing homes, supported living, or children's residential.
- Knowledge of NHS frameworks and private healthcare staffing
Pay: £35,500.00-£48,000.00 per year
