Full job description

We are looking for a passionate, creative and organised Nursery Cook to join our team at Greetwell Hollow Day Nursery on a Friday, 9.30-5.30.

You will be responsible for providing fresh, nutritious and varied meals and snacks for our children and babies, while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, safety and allergen management.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare fresh, healthy meals and snacks, using fresh produce.
Follow our accredited Menu and recipie cards.
Provide appropriate meals for babies at different stages of weaning.
Cater safely for allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements.
Maintain excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety standards.
Complete food temperature, allergen, cleaning and other required records.
Manage stock levels and stock rotation.
Maintain appropriately labelled frozen meals and baby portions for emergency use.
Ensure the kitchen, equipment and food storage areas are clean, safe and well organised.
Monitor and report any equipment, health or safety concerns.
Keep all relevant food hygiene and safety training up to date.
Work closely with the Nursery Manager and support staff with good food hygiene practices.
Support nursery events.
Follow all nursery policies at all times.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic and takes pride in their cooking. You should have good knowledge of nutrition, food hygiene and allergens, be confident working independently and enjoy creating healthy meals that children love.

A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification and professional cooking experience are desirable, but not essential.

Additional hours may be available on an ad hoc basis across other sites within the company to cover holidays/sickness.
