Lakes Home Care is looking for a carer and support worker to provide home care, care outings, personal care and domestic duties to our clients in the South Lakes area.
We are recruiting for a full time position. Due to us being a small company, we are able to be flexible with hours - with daytime, evening and weekend work available. We support most clients between 8am-8pm, 7 days a week. However, please note it is essential to be able to support with some late shifts or early shifts, and weekend work is also required.

We are a small company offering care to clients in their own homes - with our clients mainly in Kendal/ Windermere. A key focus of our service is supporting clients to enjoy outings. We currently take individuals out for lunch, walking, swimming, to garden centres, climbing, trips away, and even to Kendal Ski Slope. Our motto is "A Day Filled With Joy," and that's exactly what we want you to help us provide. The majority of client base is for companionship care, but we do offer some personal care and are looking to expand who we support.
In addition to bringing joy to our clients, it's really important to us that our team is happy too. We aim to find working hours that suit you, with clients you're compatible with. We do our best to avoid scheduling large gaps between visits and always strive to respect your time and the fantastic work our carers do. Our management team also provides hands-on care, so we understand and support you in your role. What makes us unique is that we ensure each client receives a minimum visit time of 60 minutes. This gives our carers the chance to truly connect with clients and provide companionship, alongside delivering high-quality care. We focus on discovering what excites our clients—and then do everything we can to help make it happen. That’s why we currently support clients in their 70s and 80s to go climbing and skiing!
We do not require you to have any previous care experience. We hire people based on their values and attitude.
If you're successful in your application and interview, your employment will be subject to:
- A car with business insurance and a full UK driving license - you will need to get from client to client and drive them to their chosen activity - Mileage paid.
- A satisfactory enhanced DBS check
- Receipt of two references which in our opinion are satisfactory.
- Satisfactory completion of a probationary period of up to 3 months.
We are looking for someone with a smile who can go the extra mile, someone who our clients will look forward to seeing and will want to see again. We need carers with the ability to build positive relationships whilst adopting a person centred approach.

Pay:
Monday to Friday £14.40 ph.
Saturday/Sunday £14.40 ph. plus a premium of £1.80 ph. i.e. £16.20 ph.
Bank/public holidays-£14.40 ph. plus a premium of £7.20 ph. i.e. £21.60 ph.
Please note -we do not leave big gaps for you during the day. We organise shifts so that they are in a run and respect your time.
Sleepover rate:
£100 per night
Bank/Public Holidays £100 per night plus a premium of £50 i.e. £150 per night.
Waking nights:
Paid hourly
Travel is paid from Kendal office location to your first call, for all calls during the day, trips with clients and back to Kendal.
You are also given £5 a week to spend on food or a drink when you are out with a client, to allow you to enjoy a coffee, or something of your choice with them.
We do not currently provide UK sponsorship. Please do not apply if this is something you require.
