The Role
We are seeking a highly capable Graduate Finance Assistant to support the finance department across a broad range of commercial and operational activities.
This is not a passive graduate role. You will work directly with senior leadership and gain exposure to the financial and operational running of a fast-paced manufacturing business. You will be expected to take ownership of tasks quickly, work accurately under pressure, and contribute to improving financial reporting and controls across the business.
This role is suited to individuals who are analytical, detail-oriented, commercially aware, and motivated by progression.
Finance & Operational Support
- Supporting purchase ledger, supplier reconciliations, invoice processing, and query resolution
- Assisting with month-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Supporting stock reporting, stock take processes, and operational cost analysis
- Assisting with payroll administration, expense processing, and financial record management
- Maintaining accurate financial and operational records to a high standard
Reporting & Analysis
- Preparing financial reports, spreadsheets, and management information
- Supporting analysis of margins, costs, variances, and operational performance
- Identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas requiring investigation
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
Systems & Process Improvement
- Supporting implementation and improvement of financial controls and reporting systems
- Working closely with operational departments to improve accuracy and efficiency of reporting
- Assisting with process reviews and identifying opportunities for operational improvement
What We Are Looking For
- Degree from a Russell Group or red-brick university, or exceptionally strong A-level results (A*/A grades)
- Strong numerical and analytical ability with high attention to detail
- Strong competency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas, and data handling) and Microsoft Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commercially aware with an interest in finance, operations, and business performance
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Intellectually capable, proactive, and willing to take ownership of tasks and outcomes

Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (required)
- Strong IT literacy and confidence working with financial systems and Excel-based reporting
- Immediate right to work in the UK is essential (no visa sponsorship)
Selection Process
Candidates will be required to complete a Thomas International behavioural assessment as part of our selection process, followed by a structured on-site interview including analytical and scenario-based assessment.
Only candidates demonstrating strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and commercial awareness will progress.
