Apprentice Network Cable Installer

RTR Group is a leading telecommunications solutions provider, specialising in mobile network infrastructure and in-building wireless solutions. As we continue to grow, we’re offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join us as an Apprentice Network Cable Installer, with a clear progression path into a Structured Cable Engineer role.

The Apprenticeship

As an Apprentice Network Cable Installer, you will receive:

Hands-on training alongside experienced engineers
Block-release training towards the Network Cable Installer Standard
A structured development plan with progression into a permanent engineer role

What You’ll Learn

Installation and testing of copper and fibre cabling
Reading and working from detailed drawings and project plans
Installing and configuring network equipment
Working safely, professionally, and efficiently on live sites

What We’re Looking For

Achieved Level 2 Electrical Installation
Positive attitude and strong desire to learn
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Good communication and teamwork skills

Your Career Path

On completion of the apprenticeship, you’ll progress into a Structured Cable Engineer role, working on:

Indoor DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems)
Structured cabling (Fibre, Cat6 / Cat6A)
RF equipment installation and testing
Antenna and feeder installations

You’ll gain industry-recognised certifications (CNET CNCI / City & Guilds Level 3) and the opportunity to work on high-profile projects across the UK.

What We Offer

40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (8:00am–4:30pm)
20 days holiday (increasing with length of service) + 8 bank holidays
Additional 2 days off for your birthday and the festive period
