If so, Geosense Ltd is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our in-house Machine Shop team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a business that designs and manufactures precision sensors used on major construction and infrastructure projects worldwide. You’ll play a vital role in supporting production and ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
What you’ll be doing
As a CNC Machinist, you will support the production team by machining high-quality components and maintaining efficient workflow within the machine shop.
Key responsibilities:
- Setting and programming CNC lathes and mills (including live tooling)
- Operating CNC machines from existing programmes
- Monitoring tool wear and machine performance during production cycles
- Carrying out in-process inspection and spot checks
- Loading raw materials into machines/bar feeds
- Cutting and preparing raw materials
- Deburring and cleaning machined parts
- Maintaining machine fluids and basic machine upkeep
- Supporting general machine shop housekeeping
You’ll work closely with the Head Machinist and wider engineering team, contributing to process improvements and design collaboration.
About you
We’re looking for a proactive team player with a passion for engineering and a strong desire to learn and develop.
Essential:
- Experience in CNC turning
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work to deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills
- Experience with Fanuc/Haas controls
- A practical, problem-solving mindset
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience with live tooling and sub-spindle work
- Background in either in-house or subcontract machining
- Experience in CNC milling
This role would suit someone currently working in a machine shop, or someone looking to move into a more collaborative, in-house manufacturing environment.
