Manufacturing Quality Engineer

A growing manufacturer of high-value, special-purpose machinery is looking to appoint an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support continued growth and drive quality excellence across its operations.
This is a highly visible position working closely with Assembly, Design, Supply Chain, Quality and Machine Shop teams, with responsibility for quality improvement, structured problem solving, process governance and continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production, driving root cause investigations, improving manufacturing processes and ensuring products consistently meet customer and business expectations.
Manufacturing Quality Engineer Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a Manufacturing Quality Engineer position
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline
- Strong experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading Root Cause Analysis using 8D, 5 Whys and Fishbone methodologies
- Experience managing NCRs, CAPAs and corrective actions
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP and PPAP
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Hands-on approach with excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
- Experience supporting audits and quality management systems
Manufacturing Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Develop, implement and improve quality standards, procedures and control plans
- Support production teams in resolving quality and process-related issues
- Act as the focal point for manufacturing quality and process improvement activities
- Support NPI projects and engineering change processes
- Conduct PFMEA activities and structured problem-solving exercises
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency and waste reduction
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing performance
- Provide Design for Manufacture (DFM) input during product development
- Conduct internal audits and support customer and external audits
- Develop and present quality KPIs and performance metrics
- Support project execution across design, manufacture and assembly
- Maintain quality documentation, records and process governance standards
