Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Shot Blaster to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of large industrial items, including trailers, steel fabrications, plant equipment, and other heavy-duty components, ensuring surfaces are ready for painting and finishing.

This is a hands-on role preparing a variety of large items to a high standard while following safe working practices. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has good attention to detail, and enjoys being part of a hardworking team.

Duties

Operate shot blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces for painting, coating, and finishing.
Set up and adjust blasting equipment to achieve the required surface finish.
Shot blast trailers, steel fabrications, machinery, and other large components.
Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met and identify any defects.
Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of blasting equipment, reporting any faults or maintenance requirements.
Follow all health and safety procedures and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area.
Work effectively as part of the workshop team to ensure work is completed to a high standard.

Requirements

A minimum of 1 year's experience as a Shot Blaster is required.
Previous experience in industrial surface preparation, grit blasting, or abrasive blasting.
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to surface preparation
Experience working with trailers, steel fabrications, or industrial equipment would be advantageous.
Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
