Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Painter and Shot Blaster to join our professional team. This role involves preparing surfaces and applying protective or decorative coatings to commercial structures, as well as operating shot blasting equipment to ensure surfaces preparation are primed for painting. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial painting, using a: possess strong communication skills, and hold a valid driving 45:1 paint pump and shot blasting. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or stripping old paint to ensure optimal adhesion of new coatings.
- Operate shot blasting equipment safely and efficiently to remove rust, paint, or other surface contaminants.
- Apply paints, varnishes, or specialised coatings to various commercial structures using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order through regular inspection and cleaning.
- Assist with site preparation and clean-up tasks as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress or issues encountered on-site.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial painting and shot blasting techniques
- Good command of English language for clear communication on-site.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks such as lifting, carrying, and working at heights if necessary.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to industrial painting and blasting operations is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided if required.
- 40 hour week, self employed role with opportunity to go full time on contract after trial period.
