Porter / Van Assistant

Job summary

Klap Van Service is looking for a reliable, hardworking and professional Porter / Van Assistant to join our removals and delivery team.

You will work alongside the driver to help with house moves, furniture deliveries, collections and other transport jobs across London and surrounding areas. The role involves lifting, loading and unloading items while making sure customers’ belongings are handled safely and carefully.

This position is suitable for someone who is physically fit, punctual and comfortable working flexible hours, including some weekends.

Main responsibilities

Load and unload furniture, boxes and household items safely
Assist with house moves, collections and deliveries
Protect customers’ belongings from damage
Carry heavy or bulky items, including on stairs
Follow instructions from the driver or team leader
Use moving equipment correctly and safely
Keep the van, tools and equipment clean and organised
Communicate politely and professionally with customers
Follow company health and safety procedures

Requirements

Physically fit and comfortable lifting heavy items
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Professional and respectful with customers
Able to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends
Able to travel to Greenford or agreed meeting locations
Right to work in the UK
Good teamwork and communication skills
Previous experience in removals, deliveries, warehousing or porter work is preferred but not essential
