We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to join our finance team in London, supporting the Head of FP&A and the Senior Finance Manager - Revenue and Commercial. In this role you will gain exposure to financial analysis and preparation of board decks, month end/year end revenue reporting, business partnering and working with internal stakeholders to understand key performance drivers.
This is a varied role that combines technical accounting with commercial finance, offering scope to develop your analytical skills, build relationships across teams, and take ownership of key financial processes. The role is also responsible for the consolidation process, cost allocation and reporting of management information.
This is a permanent contract position. This role will be hybrid based in the London office, working to support our Leadership Team across award-winning brands like Sky HISTORY, Crime+Investigation and BLAZE.
Key Responsibilities – FP&A
Produce and maintain a multi-currency and multi-territory budget, forecast and 5-year plan consolidation.
Support the analysis of budget data and forecast data. Challenge where necessary and pull together bridges and variance analysis to explain key movements.
Improve and adapt current models in line with business needs.
Maintain strong working relationships with business partners.
Manage large amounts of data from multiple sources.
Produce management reports and ad-hoc financial presentations including the board deck.
Develop clear, logical driver-based Excel and BPC models for consolidation and analysis.
Assist in providing finance systems support across the EMEA team.
Leverage new and old systems by integrating and automating reports into financial planning model/s for business use.
Be the main point of contact for the finance team during month end, forecast and budget periods including setting up internal orders and deals in SAP/BPC.
Provide analysis and assessment of performance against the agreed budget / forecast plans on a monthly basis.
Support all ad hoc reporting.
Support Head of FP&A with key strategic projects.
Responsible for the allocation process for budget, forecast and month end, as well as implementing different methodologies when necessary.
Key Responsibilities – Revenue
Preparation of monthly management accounts across Revenue for review by Senior Finance Manager
Understand the nature of transactions and identify appropriate accounting treatment (referring to contracts if necessary)
Posting of month end journals and understanding the impact on both P&L and balance sheet
Support with maintenance of the month end reporting models ensuring data accuracy
Prepare the monthly flash revenue report for senior management
Support Senior Finance Manager with Budgets / Forecasts
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations – investigating and resolving anomalies
Working closely with Accounts Receivable & Commercial on monthly billing and accrual queries including raising internal invoice request forms for revenue partners and monthly tracking of partner deal renewals
Liaise with auditors and support external reporting as necessary
Support all ad hoc reporting
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following key competencies:
Essential Knowledge/Skills:
Part qualified accountant, at least 50% through qualification
Comfortable with large data sets and ability to analyse data
Advanced Excel skills and willingness to further learn
Month End experience
Basic accounting knowledge will be essential
Experience working within a Finance team (minimum two years work experience)
Multi – currency experience
Consolidations experience
