About the role
We're looking for a commercially minded Commercial Analyst to join our growing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys turning data into meaningful insight and influencing business performance through analysis, reporting, and strategic decision-making.
Working closely with the Finance Business Partner and key stakeholders across the business, you'll help drive profitability and performance across our Wholesale, Ecommerce, Subscription, and Retail channels. From analysing customer profitability and sales trends to supporting forecasting, budgeting, and investment decisions, you'll play a key role in helping the business make informed, data-driven decisions.
This role would suit an ambitious analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working across multiple departments, and is passionate about improving commercial performance through robust financial insight.
What you'll do
Support the production of high-quality commercial reporting and performance analysis across the business.
Deliver clear, actionable insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing recommendations to improve performance.
Maintain accurate reporting data and ensure outputs reconcile back to finance and operational systems.
Analyse customer, product, and channel profitability across the wholesale division.
Identify opportunities to improve revenue, margin, customer retention, and account performance.
Monitor pricing structures, customer terms, rebates, and contract profitability.
Support financial modelling for new business opportunities, partnerships, and commercial initiatives.
Develop reporting that improves visibility of sales performance and key wholesale KPIs.
Monitor performance across ecommerce and subscription channels, including customer acquisition, retention, lifetime value, and conversion trends.
Provide insight into customer behaviour and trading performance.
Support pricing, promotional activity, and investment decisions through detailed analysis.
Analyse gross margin performance across sourcing, production, stock, and distribution activities.
Monitor inventory performance, waste, stock movements, and operational cost drivers.
Support labour and overhead cost analysis to ensure operational expenditure remains aligned to budget.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes.
Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Contribute to business cases and return-on-investment analysis for growth projects and capital investments.
Help improve reporting processes, data quality, and business intelligence capabilities.
Identify opportunities to automate reporting and enhance accessibility of commercial information.
Support the development of systems and processes that help the business scale effectively.
Provide support with month-end activities where required, including reconciliations and pricing updates.
Work collaboratively with the wider finance team to meet reporting deadlines and maintain strong financial controls.
Experience in a Commercial Analyst, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Management Accounting, or similar analytical role.
Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
Proven ability to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful commercial insight.
Experience producing regular management reporting and performance analysis.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
Part-qualified CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
Experience within retail, ecommerce, hospitality, FMCG, manufacturing, or food and beverage sectors.
Experience using ERP systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms.
A genuine interest in commercial performance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
You'll be:
Commercially curious and naturally analytical.
A proactive problem-solver who enjoys working with data.
Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
Comfortable challenging assumptions and presenting insights with confidence.
Collaborative, adaptable, and eager to support colleagues across the wider finance function.
Motivated by continuous improvement and finding smarter ways of working.
