Join Our Team as a Utility Surveyor
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Utility Surveyor to join our growing team in St. Columb, Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work on a range of infrastructure, construction, and development projects across the region and the UK.
As a Utility Surveyor, you will be responsible for accurately identifying, mapping, and recording underground utilities to support safe and efficient project delivery. You will work with modern surveying equipment and data capture systems while collaborating with clients, engineers, and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out underground utility surveys to PAS128 Standards using appropriate detection and surveying techniques.
- Locate, identify, and map services including water, gas, electric, telecoms, and drainage networks.
- Produce accurate survey drawings, reports, and digital data outputs in a variety of formats.
- Operate surveying equipment including GPR (single & multi-channel), EML, GPS, and total station systems.
- Interpret utility records and site information.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and health & safety compliance.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams on survey requirements.
- Travel to sites across the Southwest and extending to the rest of the UK as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working as a Utility Surveyor or in a similar surveying role.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility detection and mapping techniques.
- Experience using GPR and EML.
- Ability to produce clear and accurate survey drawings, reports & documentation.
- Good understanding of industry standards and safe working practices.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, good work ethic and willingness to integrate into a professional team.
Desirable Skills
- Experience using utility detection tools such as GPR/EML.
- Experience with n4ce, AutoCAD, IQ Maps or other survey data processing software.
- CSCS card or relevant industry qualifications such as ProQual Level 3 or 5.
- Experience working on highways, civil engineering, or construction projects
