We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Front of House Team Member who is also a Personal Licence Holder and able to fulfil the role of Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).
This is a hands-on position where you’ll be working behind the bar and on the restaurant floor while helping to oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy, community-focused pub. You’ll play an important role in delivering excellent customer service, supporting colleagues and ensuring the business operates safely and in compliance with licensing legislation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
- Take food and drink orders and serve customers efficiently.
- Operate a modern Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash and card payments accurately.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the premises.
- Support live sport, entertainment and special events.
- Work closely with the kitchen and front of house team.
- Help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business.
Designated Premises Supervisor Responsibilities
- Act as the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).
- Hold and maintain a valid Personal Licence.
- Ensure compliance with the Licensing Act 2003.
- Uphold the four licensing objectives.
- Enforce Challenge 25 procedures.
- Prevent underage alcohol sales.
- Refuse service where appropriate.
- Maintain incident and refusals records.
- Promote responsible alcohol retailing.
- Support licensing compliance and staff training.
Essential Requirements
- Current Personal Licence Holder (APLH qualified).
- Eligible to act as Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).
- Previous experience working in a pub, bar or hospitality environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Friendly, confident and approachable.
- Reliable and well organised.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Desirable Skills
- Supervisory experience within hospitality.
- Food Safety qualification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
