Full job description

Job Title: Events Planner

Job PurposeTo plan, coordinate, and deliver exceptional events at Rio Grande Banqueting, ensuring every function is organised to the highest standard and provides an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Meet with clients to discuss their event requirements, preferences, and budgets.
Plan and coordinate weddings, engagements, mehndi nights, walimas, birthdays, corporate events, and community functions.
Prepare event proposals, quotations, and booking confirmations.
Liaise with decorators, caterers, entertainers, photographers, florists, and other suppliers to ensure all arrangements are in place.
Coordinate event schedules and ensure all services are delivered on time.
Work closely with the venue management, kitchen, and front-of-house teams to ensure events run smoothly.
Oversee event setup and provide on-the-day support, resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Process bookings, deposits, and final payments while maintaining accurate event records.
Promote venue services and identify opportunities to increase bookings and revenue.
Ensure all events comply with health and safety regulations and venue policies.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in event planning, hospitality, or customer service.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and work under pressure.
Good negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of Asian weddings and cultural events is desirable.
Competent in Microsoft Office and booking or event management systems.

Personal Qualities

Friendly, professional, and customer-focused.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Creative and proactive.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
