Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various roofing projects, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and supporting skilled tradespeople in completing high-quality roofing installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in construction work, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn new skills within the roofing industry.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools.
- Prepare work sites by clearing debris and setting up scaffolding or safety barriers.
- Handle heavy materials such as shingles, tiles, or metal sheets, ensuring safe lifting and manoeuvring.
- Support carpenters, masons, plumbers, and other tradespeople on-site as required.
- Follow schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation processes.
- Operate welding equipment when necessary for metal roofing components.
- Assist with fabrication and cutting of materials using specialised tools.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during operations.
Requirements
- Previous construction experience is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is vital.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of roofing systems, schematics, welding, carpentry, masonry, plumbing or related skills is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A proactive attitude with a focus on safety standards on-site.
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not mandatory.
