Peggy Dodd is an award winning charity which works to help those living with dementia and memory loss, whilst supporting and providing respite to the people who care for them. We do this through our day centre in Combe Down and our home support service. Our vision is to enrich the lives of those living with memory loss and their carers by consistently providing support which respects the needs of each individual.
About the Role The Peggy Dodd Centre is seeking a creative and organised Marketing Lead to help raise awareness of our services, strengthen community engagement, and support the growth of our work and fundraising activities. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys purpose-driven work and can work independently to develop and deliver practical marketing activity with limited weekly hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee a simple, effective marketing plan aligned with organisational goals
- Manage and schedule social media content across relevant platforms
- Create engaging content including newsletters, flyers, website updates, and campaign materials
- Promote events, fundraising activities, and community initiatives
- Support the development of the organisations public profile
- Identify opportunities for local press coverage, partnerships, and community outreach
- Monitor marketing performance and provide brief monthly updates/recommendations
- Ensure all communications reflect the values and voice of the organisation
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience in marketing, communications, or digital content creation
- Strong written communication and storytelling skills
- Experience managing social media platforms and basic analytics
- Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence using tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, and social media scheduling platforms
- Confidence in interacting with clients and staff at the day centre
Desirable
- Experience working with charities, community organisations, or social care settings
- Basic website editing experience (e.g. WordPress)
- Photography or video content skills
- Understanding of community engagement and fundraising communications
