Our spacious and well-resourced facility is highly regarded for its commitment to excellence. We cater for up to 110 nursery-aged children and 50 after-school children each day.
Position Overview
We are looking for an organised, professional and approachable Part-Time HR & Administration Assistant to support the day-to-day HR and administrative functions across our nursery and wraparound care setting.
Applicants should have 2-3 years of experience to be considered for the role.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting staff throughout their employment journey, helping to ensure that HR records, recruitment processes and compliance requirements are maintained to a high standard.
This is an ideal role for someone who is highly organised, confident handling confidential information, and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy childcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist with recruitment administration including job adverts, interview scheduling and reference requests
- Prepare offer letters, contracts and new starter paperwork
- Support the onboarding and induction process for new employees
- Maintain accurate staff files and safer recruitment records
HR Administration
- Maintain employee records and HR databases
- Monitor staff absence records, return-to-work paperwork and holiday records
- Support with disciplinary, grievance and performance management administration
- Prepare HR letters and documentation when required
- Ensure compliance with employment law and nursery policies
- Keep up to date with HR and legislation changes
Compliance & Training
- Monitor DBS checks, qualifications and mandatory training renewals
- Assist with staff training records and compliance tracking
- Help ensure safeguarding and safer recruitment requirements are met
Payroll & Staffing Support
- Support payroll administration including timesheets and staff information updates
- Assist management with staffing reports and workforce information
- Support communication with staff regarding HR-related matters
General Administration
- Support the wider management team with administrative tasks
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous HR experience (minimum 2-3 year’s experience)
- Previous administrative experience
- Knowledge of employment law and safer recruitment practices
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office / Google / Bright HR
- Ability to handle confidential information sensitively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
