The Role:
The purpose of the role is to provide specialist advice, guidance, administrative and practical support for the development of University REF impact case studies, and to contribute to the wider research and innovation impact and knowledge exchange agenda.

The postholder will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to support the identification, development and evidencing of research impact, helping to ensure that impact activity is planned, captured and communicated effectively. The role will contribute to preparations for REF submission, including case study development, evidence collection, quality checking and use of relevant systems and processes.

The role will also support institutional activity relating to impact culture and the acceleration of research impact, maintaining current knowledge of sector policy and good practice, and helping to demonstrate the external value and benefits of the University’s research and innovation activity.

We expect the successful candidate to be onsite for 8 days per month. The remainder of the time can be spent working from home if they wish.

Interviews are currently anticipated to be held on 8 and 9 September 2026.

This appointment is offered on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2029.

Salary Information:
New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
