We are looking for a motivated, reliable and customer-focused Pharmacy Dispenser to join our busy community pharmacy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, working as part of a team and delivering high-quality patient care.
As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will play an important role in supporting the pharmacist to provide safe, efficient and professional pharmacy services to our local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately under the supervision of the pharmacist.
- Prepare and label medicines in accordance with legal and professional requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service and assist patients with enquiries.
- Receive, check and store pharmaceutical stock.
- Maintain accurate patient medication records.
- Process prescriptions using the pharmacy computer system.
- Support the delivery of NHS and private pharmacy services.
- Ensure the dispensary is clean, organised and compliant with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist with stock management, ordering and date checking.
- Work closely with pharmacists and the wider pharmacy team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in a community pharmacy.
- Holds an NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services qualification (or is willing to work towards one).
- Has excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Is organised and able to prioritise workload.
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
- Is committed to providing outstanding patient care.
Desirable Skills
- Experience using pharmacy dispensing systems.
- Knowledge of NHS pharmacy services.
- Medicines Counter Assistant qualification.
- Accuracy Checking qualification (advantageous but not essential).
